Now users can broadcast Google Meet's 'virtual meeting' directly on YouTube.

Tech giant Google is adding a new feature to its Meet app. Through that new feature, Google Meet users can share the Livestream of any meeting directly on YouTube.

An admin can enable this feature by navigating to the Activities panel and selecting Live Streaming, the company said.

Users can then select their channel to start live streaming the meeting on YouTube, according to a report by Android Central.

"Livestreaming is useful in situations where users want to present information to a large audience outside of their organization," explains Google.

However, channel approval is also required for live streaming on YouTube. Google warns its users that channels must get approval before livestreaming. The Google Meet help page explains that only hosts and co-hosts can start live-streaming meetings when host management is turned on.

Now with that option turned off, anyone present in the meeting can start live streaming it. If one is interested in live-streaming the meeting, Google will also provide a privacy option.

Experts believe that the tech giant is trying to diversify and differentiate Meet from other platforms by adding a feature like live streaming of any meeting held on Google Meet.

According to Google, the new feature will be introduced gradually. The first of these is Rapid Release, which has been enabled for select domains since July 21. The second is the 'Scheduled Release', which starts on July 25 and continues for days on end.
